After more than a year of uncertainty, the Ford F-600 is officially back on the market in California.
Ford has removed previous sales restrictions on diesel F-600 trucks, meaning these units can now be sold, delivered, and registered in the state without limitation.
For many of our customers, this is a major shift.

What Changed with the F-600 in California
Ford previously restricted diesel Super Duty chassis above 19,500 GVWR due to compliance limitations. That restriction is now gone.
Here’s what that actually means:
F-600 diesel trucks can now be sold and registered in California
Restrictions tied to higher GVWR classifications no longer apply
Required attestations for ordering have been removed
Dealers can deliver units freely across all states
This isn't speculation. This is direct change from Ford's dealer communication.
Why the F-600 Matters Right Now
The F-600 fills a gap that a lot of fleets struggled with during the restriction period.
It gives you:
Higher GVWR without stepping into a full heavy-duty platform
Increased payload capacity for real jobsite demands
A more versatile chassis for multiple upfit applications
Better maneuverability compared to larger Class 7 trucks
If you’re running service trucks, utility builds, or field repair units, this is one of the most practical platforms available.
We Didn’t Wait. We’re Already Building Them.
Most companies are just now reacting to the news.
At One Stop Truck & Equipment in Sacramento, we already have F-600 chassis in our production bays.
We are actively building:
Mechanic Service Trucks
Flatbeds
Fully Custom Upfits based on your operation
What’s Coming Next (And Why You Should Pay Attention)
Here’s the part most people won’t say out loud:
Demand is about to spike hard.
Every company that paused purchasing due to the restriction is about to re-enter the market at the same time.
That leads to:
Limited chassis availability
Longer lead times
Increased pricing pressure
If you wait, you’re not just waiting. You’re competing.
Who Should Be Looking at the F-600
This isn’t for everyone. But if you fall into one of these categories, it should be on your radar:
Fleet managers running service or maintenance trucks
Contractors needing higher payload capacity
Utility and field service companies
Businesses trying to avoid jumping into larger Class 7 trucks
If your current trucks are maxed out or underperforming, this is the upgrade point.
Secure Your Build Before Inventory Tightens
The F-600 is back.
Production has already started at One Stop Truck & Equipment.
And availability will not stay wide open for long.
If you’re planning to add trucks to your fleet, now is the time to lock in a build slot while options are still available.
